American Express named official payments partner of MetLife Stadium, Jets and Giants

American Express is expanding its sports and entertainment partnerships with new long-term deals that will bring cardholder benefits to venues and teams in the New York/New Jersey and Atlanta metropolitan areas, the company announced.

Under the agreements, American Express will be named the official payments partner of MetLife Stadium, the New York Jets and the New York Giants. The company also announced similar partnerships in the Atlanta market, including Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United and a newly awarded National Women’s Soccer League team scheduled to begin play in 2028. American Express said the move builds on partnerships announced last year with Hard Rock Stadium and the Miami Dolphins in South Florida.

As part of the new agreements, MetLife Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium will join the American Express Venue Collection, which the company described as a benefit for eligible card members. American Express said the Venue Collection can include access to Amex Presale Tickets for select events, while supplies last, and an option to enroll in an offer to earn a statement credit on qualifying concession purchases, among other perks. Terms apply, the company said.

Eligible card members will be able to access benefits at Mercedes-Benz Stadium beginning with the spring event season and at MetLife Stadium heading into the NFL season later this year, American Express said.

“Recognizing the importance of sports and music fandom we are creating even more value for our customers across moments that matter to them through these new partnerships,” Elizabeth Rutledge, chief marketing officer at American Express, said in a statement. She added that the new stadium and NFL team partnerships in the New York, Atlanta and Miami areas “further cement our role as a leading payments partner in sports and entertainment.”

MetLife Stadium President and CEO Ron VanDeVeen said the partnership is intended to enhance the fan experience through “exclusive benefits and meaningful experiences.”

American Express said the latest stadium, team and league sponsorships expand its broader sports and entertainment portfolio, which the company said spans multiple sports as well as music, theater and other live events.
