Calling it the ultimate ultraexclusive experience: PGA Tour markets $7,500 Liberty Club ticket for upcoming event at Liberty National

If you’re thinking about entertaining business clients at Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City for the upcoming THE NORTHERN TRUST golf tournament — and want to do it in upscale fashion — there’s still time.

Custom suites and tents have long been sold out, but the tournament is offering weeklong tickets for the Liberty Club, what tournament officials are calling the ultimate ultraexclusive experience.

The five-day ticket offers not only access to a private suite on the 18th and 14th greens, it comes with all-inclusive food and beverage selections, a private premium shopping experience, concierge service and an early week meet-and-greet event with the players.

It comes at a cost, $7,500 per person, but it’s an experience Tournament Director Mike Baird said patrons have been asking for in years past.

“We look at what type of experience the type of clientele wants and expects,” he said. “I think the introduction of the Liberty Club helped fit that need.

Part of the advertisement for the new Liberty Club ticket.

“If you are a member of a golf club, you’re used to an ultrapremium experience, you’re used to a certain type of level of exclusivity. With the inclusion of the Liberty Club this year, we’re giving them that type of experience during the week of the tournament.”

The Northern Trust will be held the week of Aug. 5. It is the first of three events in the FedExCup Playoffs and will feature the Top 125 players on the tour.

The Liberty Club is one of the three premium clubs the event is offering, Baird said.

The Ultra Club, located on the 14th green, costs $395 per day.

Baird said it offers incredible views of the par-3 hole, as well as the New York City skyline and the Statue of Liberty. It also offers all-inclusive upgraded food and beverage options, private restrooms and TVs located in a climate-controlled venue.

Single-day tickets are available, though tickets for Friday during the tournament already are sold out, with the other days moving fast, Baird said.

Then there’s the Anchor Club, a double-decker hospitality venue featuring a modern rooftop lounge atmosphere, with views of the 18th and 1st fairways and the 2nd green.

For $160 per ticket per day on Wednesday and $185 per ticket per day on Thursday-Sunday, customers get access to a climate-controlled interior and an open-air, covered second level with soft seating and a rooftop vibe, Baird said.

Anchor Club members also have access to premium food and beverage, available for purchase.

Baird said tickets for all three clubs are transferable.

“This adds to the convenience,” he said. “Companies are able to bring different clients on different days.”

Baird and his team work year-round on the event. In fact, he said, they already are working on next year’s tournament (which will be held in the Boston area) as well as the 2021 event, which returns to Liberty National.

Baird said they already are working with businesses on sponsorship packages and tent and suite packages for those events.

“The larger suites and sponsorship packages happen 10-18 months out from the tournament, depending on what type of a partnership were looking to build,” he said.

The biggest reason? Baird said his team customizes every deal, depending on the need of the business.

“I think the biggest thing that separates our events from some of the other events within the market is that our products are made to order,” he said. “It’s not like you’re going to Yankee Stadium, where they have a certain number of suites at certain sizes.

“If you have 100 clients or 200 clients or just two clients, we have a product that we can customize. I think just making little tweaks, based on conversations with our clients, is something we look forward to you, because it enables us to create new options every year.

“It’s why we created the Liberty Club.”
