Atlantic Health System recently purchased a property in Rockaway for $25.9 million to expand services and meet the health needs of the community.
Atlantic Health has been the only tenant at the 92,326-square-foot building located at 333 Mount Hope Ave., which housed the Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion. When the joint owners were in the process of selling the building, AHS said it bested offers from 19 other potential buyers.
“With an already strong demand from the community at the Pavilion at Rockaway, we decided to fully invest in the location, allowing us free rein to enhance the services there to better meet the needs of our patients,” Paul Marmora, vice president, ambulatory care for Atlantic Health System, said.
The health care provider said the pavilion, which opened in 2016 and sits on 9.28 acres, offers MMC services in a convenient location for approximately 11,000 patients a month from Mount Arlington, Denville, Dover, Boonton, Morris Plains, Wharton, Roxbury and Randolph.
AHS said it plans to add an ambulatory surgery center and more exam rooms to the property over the next few months.
“Since it opened in 2016, the Health Pavilion has seen incredible growth, which speaks to the demand for Morristown Medical Center’s nationally recognized programs and services in the Rockaway area,” Trish O’Keefe, president of Morristown Medical Center, said. “We continue to work with the community to deeply understand its unique health needs, and, with full ownership of the building, we can expand and enhance our services to best meet those needs.”
The sale was closed by JLL‘s Capital Markets team comprised of Jose Cruz, senior managing director, and Ben Appel, director.
