Gov. Phil Murphy used Twitter to update the state’s numbers on both the COVID-19 pandemic and the widespread power outages from Tropical Storm Isaias on Thursday.
He said the state saw 411 new positive cases of coronavirus, bringing its total to 183,701. He also noted an additional eight deaths, pushing the state’s total to 13,996.
In a weather update, he said the state now has about 550,000 outages remaining, from a peak level of 1.4 million after the fast-moving storm hit Tuesday.
The governor’s next COVID media briefing is scheduled for Friday afternoon.
