Bed Bath & Beyond names pair of regional presidents to oversee 500-plus stores

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. has named regional presidents for the East and Central regions, putting two executives in charge of more than 500 stores nationwide.

Ann-Marie Clendenin will be regional vice president for the East region, while Mary-Farrell Tarbox will be RVP for the Central region. Both will report to Gregg Melnick, executive VP and chief stores officer, rounding out the store leadership team.

Clendenin, who had been U.S. retail president for Aritzia, will oversee about 200 stores in 12 states. She had been a general manager with Union-based Bed Bath & Beyond in 2002 and 2003.

“It’s such an exciting time to rejoin Bed Bath & Beyond, and I am thrilled to come back to the business at a time when the home category is playing such an important role in the lives of customers across North America,” she said in a prepared statement. “I look forward to helping accelerate the technology-led transformation of store operations to drive growth and relevance with a new generation of customers.”

Tarbox, who had been vice president for stores with Crate & Barrel Holdings, will oversee more than 350 stores in 22 states.

“I am delighted to join Bed Bath & Beyond at such a pivotal time of growth and transformation,” she said in a statement. “As the company continues to take meaningful steps to improve the way it serves customers, I am excited to help lead a cultural change in store operations to make the omnichannel experience even better in the future.”
