Suez North America, the Paramus-based water and wastewater utility company, has won more than $223 million in services contracts around the nation, it announced Thursday.
The biggest contract is a 20-year, $164 million deal to operate, manage and maintain the wastewater treatment plant and 13 pump stations in Lynn, Massachusetts. As part of the agreement with the Lynn, Massachusetts, Water and Sewer Commission, Suez will partner with AECOM and C.H. Nickerson to perform approximately $64 million in capital improvements to the plant. The facility serves approximately 140,000 people in the Lynn area.
In another 20-year agreement, Suez will operate a state-of-the-art water treatment plant and a raw water pump station in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. This agreement, worth $40 million, will see Suez work with AECOM and the city to meet increased demand for drinking water, the company said.
Suez also signed an 8.5-year contract extension with the town of Poughkeepsie, New York, to operate and maintain the Arlington Water Pollution Control Facility. This extension, valued at nearly $18 million, will also address capital work and maintenance at the plant.
Finally, Suez signed a five-year agreement to operate and maintain the water and wastewater operations of the city of Ellisville, Mississippi. Financial terms were not disclosed.
