Betway, global online sports betting brand, signs deal with Devils

The New Jersey Devils announced a multiyear partnership with Betway on Friday, making the global online sports betting brand owned by Super Group an official partner of the team.

Through the deal, Betway will receive brand exposure and TV-visible signage throughout Prudential Center for Devils home games, including dasherboard, Zamboni tunnel and in-bowl staircase branding, as well as in-bowl LED ring and scoreboard advertising.

Betway also will become the presenting partner of the “Devils Starting Lineup, presented by Betway,” a social post series supported and promoted across all New Jersey Devils social media platforms.

Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said the partnership will help the company expand its efforts to connect and engage with the Devils fanbase, the New Jersey market and global NHL fans.

“We’re very excited to be adding the New Jersey Devils to our existing North American sports sponsorship portfolio,” he said. “Our partnership with the Devils will give us great exposure via the extensive list of marketing rights, which will enable us to showcase our products to customers in New Jersey.”

Sports betting in New Jersey continues to be hot.

Launched in 2006, the company operates across a number of regulated online markets. Betway prides itself on providing its customers with a bespoke, fun and informed betting experience, supported by a safe, secure, fair and responsible environment. On Thursday, the state announced New Jersey smashed its own national record in October for the highest amount of bets taken in a single month, topping $1.3 billion — almost all of which was done online.

The number was 30% higher than the previous mark of $1.01 billion in September.

Adam Cross, senior vice president of global partnerships for Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and the New Jersey Devils, said the groups were happy to announce the deal.

“We are thrilled that Betway has selected the New Jersey Devils to continue their global campaign to connect and engage with the most dedicated fans across the NHL and sports,” he said. “The New Jersey sports fan continues to be savvy, aware and engaged with sports betting opportunities; and we are pleased to introduce them to Betway’s unique platform, featuring some of the most entertaining wagers and competitive odds available today.”
