Inspira Health has donated approximately 72,000 KN95 masks to more than a dozen organizations in Cumberland, Salem and Gloucester counties. Although not designed to replace N95 respirators in a clinical setting, these masks align with the latest public guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to wear masks that provide greater protection than traditional cloth or surgical masks.
“As an organization focused on improving the health and well-being of our communities, we are grateful for the opportunity to provide local agencies and residents with masks that will help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in South Jersey,” said Amy Mansue, CEO and president of Inspira Health. “We were fortunate to find ourselves with an abundance of these masks, so we reached out to our county and civic leaders for help getting them to the agencies and people who need them most.”
Masks were provided to: (Gloucester County) Office of Emergency Management, Boys and Girls Club of Gloucester County, Abilities Solutions, St. John of God Community Services, NAACP, (Cumberland County) Office of Emergency Management, Health Services, Prosecutor’s Office, Bridgeton Police Department, Vineland Police Department, Cumberland County Office on Aging, Department of Human Services, Gateway Community Action Partnership, Life Worth Living, Stronger Families, Positive Vibes, Iron Sharpens Iron, Youth Love Movement, (Salem County) Department of Health and Human Services Public Preparedness Division and Coalition for a Safe Salem County.
“Inspira has been a great resource and trusted partner throughout the pandemic,” said Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. “Their decision to share these masks, at no charge, will help the communities and people we serve stay safe as we continue to navigate COVID-19.”
“Inspira Health continues to provide needed support and resources to the people of Gloucester County,” said Commissioner Denice DiCarlo, Gloucester County board of commissioners liaison to emergency response. “Since the earliest days of the pandemic, when they assisted with testing, to providing vaccinations, and now masks, Inspira has been focused on keeping our residents safe and healthy.”
KN95 masks provide greater filtration than cloth masks and traditional surgical masks. Aware that the masks have a limited shelf life, Inspira leadership chose to donate the masks to make sure they would benefit the communities it serves.
