Avison Young expands N.J. industrial brokerage team with 2 new hires

Industry vets Judy Troiano and John Gianis join Morristown office

Avison Young’s New Jersey offices on Wednesday announced the new hire of Judy Troiano and John Gianis as vice presidents specializing in industrial transaction management. Located in the firm’s Morristown office, the two will work directly with Principals Timothy Cadigan and Matthew Turse to enhance Avison Young’s New Jersey industrial services group.

“As activity in New Jersey’s industrial sector shows no signs of slowing, expanding our already-robust industrial service platform has been a top priority,” AY Principal & Managing Director Jeffrey Heller stated. “Judy and John are proven industry leaders whose expertise will be instrumental in providing best-in-class solutions to our clients’ real estate needs as we continue to win new business and grow our team.”

Troiano brings over 27 years of local and international office and industrial advisory experience to her role as vice president, where she will focus on advising clients in the industrial sector. Prior to joining Avison Young, Troiano specialized in office and industrial transactions in the northern New Jersey market at NAI. In this role, she also served as European business director, providing international corporate services for German-owned multinationals involving office and industrial requirements.

“Having spent my career in the commercial real estate industry, I’ve witnessed firsthand Avison Young’s rapidly-growing presence and am thrilled to join a company with a people-first culture and tech-forward approach to servicing clients,” Troiano said.

Gianis joins as a vice president, where he will work to strengthen the New Jersey industrial group. Gianis began his real estate career at Douglas Elliman Commercial before joining Helmsley Spear in New York City. Since 2019, Gianis has completed over $50 million in transactions. Gianis graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Arts in history, and was also a member of the baseball team. In 2011, he was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the MLB player draft.

“New Jersey’s industrial market is one of the strongest in the country and Avison Young is an active player in this space,” Gianis said. “I’m excited to join and contribute to this growing team and continue my career at a company that is dedicated to creating value for its clients, colleagues and community.”
