Rowan University, RCBC celebrate first students to finish historic 3+1 program

Rowan University and Rowan College at Burlington County announced Thursday the first 15 students have completed its 3+1 program.

Each student was recognized at an event heldĀ on Tuesday at RCBC’s Student Success Center. The event included remarks from Rowan University President Dr. Ali Houshmand, RCBC President Dr. Michael A. Cioce and other university officials.

The 3+1 program is an affordability program designed for students to finish a Rowan University bachelor’s degree in three years at RCBC and save around $75,000.

RCBC is the first community college in the region to offer junior-year courses in January 2017, it said. Since then, more than 1,000 students have committed to the 3+1 program.

The program current offers seven majors, including:

  • Biology;
  • Nursing;
  • Psychology;
  • Liberal studies;
  • Computing and informatics;
  • Law and justice;
  • Inclusive education.
