NFI bolsters distribution service with additions, promotions

NFI, a supply chain solutions provider based in Camden, has hired two executives and promoted two more, it announced recently.

The third-party logistics company said in a news release that the goal of the appointments is to enhance operational leadership and distribution service.

The moves include the hiring of Steve Silverman as senior vice president of distribution and Mike Simpson as regional vice president of distribution, and the promotions of Kevin Wright and Brian Webb to senior vice presidents of distribution.

“NFI has experienced explosive growth in the distribution space over the past decade, which is now the largest segment of our business, generated over $1 billion in revenue,” Kevin Patterson, NFI’s president of distribution, said in a prepared statement. “In addition to investing in innovative technology and equipment, NFI continues to grow its warehousing business by bringing strong talent to the team to support future growth and bring greater value to our customers.”

Silverman will oversee the central U.S. and Canada, along with the project management and team and customer startups, while Wright will oversee the eastern U.S. and Webb the western part of the country. Simpson, meanwhile, will manage cross-dock operations and expand reverse logistics solutions.

Silverman joined NFI from discount retailer Bargain Hunt, while Simpson came from FedEx Supply Chain. Wright has been with NFI for 22 years, and Webb has been with the company for four.
