Day & Bergen, latest luxury multifamily in Harrison, begins leasing (SLIDESHOW)

Dey & Bergen, the latest luxury rental building in Harrison — one that began leasing its 242 waterfront rental residences Monday — has a distinctive design.

Straight out of “Mad Men.”

At least, that’s the way BNE Real Estate Group described it.

BNE hired interior designer Mary Cook Associates to help shape the community’s lifestyle experience with a colorful, mid-century modern approach throughout its amenity and lounge spaces. The 1950s-era, “Mad Men”-inspired details are infused throughout common spaces, such as a vintage 1960 Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite positioned as the centerpiece of the community’s speakeasy lounge, creating a fun design experience and an Instagram-able backdrop.

It’s just one aspect of a property that was developed by BNE along with partners Hornrock Properties and Canoe Brook Development.

Dey & Bergen, located at the intersection of Dey and Bergen streets along the Passaic River, bills itself as having larger-than-average studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans.

The more than 45,000 square feet of amenities come with 24-hour concierge service, shuttle transportation to the PATH, onsite covered parking, a riverfront swimming pool, multiple social and entertainment lounges, a commercial-grade fitness center, yoga studio and a coworking lounge with private offices.

Monthly rents start at $1,850 — with grand opening incentives of up to four months free.

David Pantirer, a partner at BNE Real Estate Group, feels the property will be in demand.

“We’re excited to open the doors to Dey & Bergen, which combines classic style with modern amenities and some real personality, which we believe will connect with today’s residents,” he said. “Add in a great waterfront location with commuter convenience and you have the type of lifestyle that is in high demand.”

Dey & Bergen is the most recent Harrison community to open under the banner of BNE Real Estate Group, a developer that has been investing in Harrison for more than a decade.

In the riverfront area, BNE has developed the condominium community River Park at Harrison, and the rental communities Water’s Edge and One Harrison.
