Occupancy underway at Atlas luxury rental in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette (SLIDESHOW)

Initial occupancy is now underway at Atlas, a collection of 169 luxury rental residences developed by partners Alpine Residential and Fields Grade in Jersey City’s Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood.

Located at 270 Johnston Ave., the arrival of the first residents comes as the 24-story building has officially launched leasing for its offering of studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences. The grand opening follows a preleasing period that quickly captured the attention of renters that were looking for a refuge from high-priced rentals in downtown Jersey City.

Monthly rents at Atlas start at $2,679, with limited-time grand opening incentives of up to two months free on select homes. South Oxford Management, Alpine’s affiliated management company, is heading the leasing and management and has debuted Atlas with fully furnished model residences and an onsite leasing center.

“This is a very exciting time at Atlas, which has become a trophy high-rise in one of Jersey City’s fast-rising neighborhoods,” William Rosato, managing partner of Alpine Residential, said. “We’re thrilled to welcome the initial renters and begin the important process of building a community at the building. The first move-ins will help bring Atlas to life as residents begin to actively enjoy its upscale apartments and modern amenities and premium services.”

Perched on an elevated site, Atlas is the tallest building in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood. Designed by MHS Architecture and featuring interiors by GRT Architects, the property draws inspiration from the neighborhood’s post-industrial roots while engaging with the Jersey City waterfront and the New York City skyline.

The collection of residences at Atlas blends luxury and functionality. Oversized windows with complimentary treatments frame stunning views, while luxury plank flooring, custom modular closets, in-home washer and dryer, remote thermostats and smart lock entry doors enhance the living experience. Kitchens feature Quartz countertops, full-height tiled backsplashes and stainless-steel Energy Star appliances. Well-appointed baths are fitted with Quartz countertops, full-height tiled showers and tubs and Kohler fixtures. Select homes have double vanities.

Many apartments feature private balconies that extend the living spaces outdoors while maximizing uninterrupted views of the Statue of Liberty, Liberty Harbor, Liberty State Park and the Manhattan skyline.

Residents at Atlas will enjoy a host of amenities, including concierge service, a state-of-the-art functional fitness facility equipped with Cross-Fit and cardio machines and coworking spaces with private offices. On the 24th floor, with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline as the backdrop, residents have access to a demonstration kitchen, community room and a dramatic Sky Lounge. An outdoor landscaped roof deck features grilling stations, al fresco dining areas and a plunge pool. The pet-friendly, smoke-free property also provides on-site parking, bike storage and TULU, an on-demand smart rental store for high-quality household and lifestyle products. Ground-level retail space will house a bagel café.
