NJCU School of Business to hold open house Saturday

New Jersey City University will host its in-person Spring 2024 School of Business Open House from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the NJCU School of Business at Harborside 2 in Jersey City.

The event will allow prospective undergraduate and graduate students to empower their future by learning about the programs offered at the NJCU School of Business and how a business degree from NJCU can propel their career forward.

It also will enable businesses an opportunity to learn more about the School of Business at NJCU.

Prospective students will have a chance to tour NJCU’s state-of-the-art facility overlooking the New York City Business District, explore major degree programs and career development opportunities, meet and connect with faculty, speak with current students about the NJCU college experience, learn about campus resources, clubs and organizations and gain insight into admissions and financial aid opportunities and next action steps.

Dean Marvin Walker is eager for the event.

“Our faculty and staff are excited to speak with prospective students and their families about our undergraduate and graduate programs,” he said.  “As an institution located in the heart of the Financial District in Jersey City, we’re eager to serve this community and beyond by preparing our future leaders and entrepreneurs.

“We offer virtual, HyFlex and in-person classes in business analytics and data science, information systems, marketing, management, supply chain, logistics and maritime port management, accounting, financial technology and much more.”

The event will begin with breakfast and tours at 9 a.m., followed by welcome remarks at 10 a.m. from Walker and interim President Andrés Acebo.

Attendees will have a chance to explore NJCU’s business offerings during academic breakout sessions and research financial aid opportunities from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

A student club and resource expo will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Faculty, staff and student representatives from academic programs, departments, support offices and student organizations will be available to connect with attendees. Refreshments will be available.

NJCU offers undergraduate degrees in:

  • Accounting;
  • Business analytics and data science;
  • Business information systems;
  • Finance;
  • Global business;
  • Management;
  • Marketing;
  • Professional financial planning (minor);
  • Sports management; and
  • Supply chain, logistics and maritime port management.
