Starling in Jersey City’s fast growing Bergen-Lafayette hits leasing milestone

More than 75% of the upscale rental residences at Starling, a boutique collection of luxury apartments in Jersey City’s resurgent Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood, have been leased, according to development partners Alpine Residential and Fields Grade.

The community has experienced high leasing velocity, driven by renters attracted to the offering of thoughtfully constructed apartment homes, inspired amenities and energetic city vibe.

Starling features a mix of studio to three-bedroom apartments, priced from $2,787 and offered with limited-time incentives that include up to two months free. South Oxford Management, an affiliated company of Alpine Residential, is handling its leasing program and management.

“Starling has effectively tapped into a pool of renters who want to enjoy the vibrancy and spirit of downtown apartment living in homes with a tremendous amount of space, style and comfort,” Todd Schefler, managing partner of Alpine Residential, said. “We are seeing high interest from all walks of life, whether someone looking to establish roots in this neighborhood or others who want to significantly upgrade their apartment lifestyle.”

With lease activity moving swiftly, the Starling team has also unveiled the full suite of amenities at the eye-catching six-story building. Designed to foster a sense of tranquility, wellness and ease, Starling offers a rooftop lounge, outdoor dining and seating area, state-of-the-art fitness center, coworking spaces and an indoor golf simulator. Services encompass a virtual doorman, package room, bike storage, access to electric scooters and Tulu, an on-demand smart rental store offering high-quality household and lifestyle products. There’s also limited indoor garage parking to include EV charging stations.

“This amenity package has been perfectly designed to fit the boutique lifestyle at Starling,” Rob Giannone, director of development for Fields Grade, said. “We’ve created modern, well-appointed recreational and social spaces where residents can expand their living spaces, whether it’s working, relaxing or enjoying an athletic activity. It’s the perfect complement to the ultra-luxe apartments.”

Homes at Starling feature oversized windows with complimentary treatments that bathe the living space in natural light. Designer appointments include luxury plank flooring throughout, custom modular closets, in-home washer and dryer, smart lock entry and remote thermostats. Gourmet kitchens boast stainless steel Energy Star appliances, Quartz countertops with a waterfall edge, Kohler fixtures, under-cabinet lighting and full-height tiled back splashes. Sleek bathrooms are adorned with Kohler fixtures, full-height tiled baths and showers and soft close cabinetry. Select homes offer outdoor terraces.

Throughout Starling, a carefully curated collection of artwork captures the essence of Jersey City’s vibrant art scene. From murals by world-renowned artists to the diverse architecture and neighborhood life, the collection celebrates the city’s creativity. Upon entering the building, residents and guests are welcomed by works showcasing Jersey City’s street art scene, a theme that continues throughout amenities spaces adorned with local art and stocked with books from local authors, providing a connection to the Jersey City art community.
