CSG launches alternative dispute resolution group; Dickson, Grieco to chair

Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC is launching an Alternative Dispute Resolution Group, to be led by chairs Joseph Dickson, a former Federal Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and Nicholas Grieco, a member of the Litigation Group and an experienced mediator.

This interdisciplinary group draws upon the experience of former federal and state court judges, former federal prosecutors, trial lawyers, transactional attorneys, former county and municipal counsel, and former in-house counsel, who work closely with the parties to evaluate the risks they face, understand their business objectives, avoid contention, and resolve their disputes.

Team members serve as arbitrators, mediators, facilitators, neutrals, special masters, special adjudicators, and hearing officers; and also, regularly conduct neutral evaluations.

Dickson discussed the benefits of the process in an article in ROI-NJ.

“The fact is, if you go to mediation, you have a better chance of ending the litigation on terms in which you have some input,” he said.

Grieco agreed.

“We believe that there are no intractable problems, only challenges begging for solutions,” he said. “Pulling together the resources of this diverse group of practitioners will provide solutions in a wide variety of matters.”

The ADR Group serves as arbitrators, mediators, and neutral evaluators, handling ADR proceedings involving U.S. and international parties and wide-ranging matters, including:

  • Civil rights and employment matters
  • Construction-related, property damage, and personal injury disputes
  • Consumer-related disputes
