MAD Global expanding into NYC with acquisition of Millennial Strategies

Millennial co-founders Guillot, Voetsch will lead New York operation of fast-growing Summit-based public affairs firm

MAD Global Strategy, a leading bipartisan public affairs firm based in Summit, is expanding again. This time, across the Hudson River.

The firm, created and run by Mike DuHaime, is announcing Tuesday morning the opening of a New York City operation through the acquisition of Millennial Strategies, a boutique political consulting firm.

The Millennial co-founders, Jeff Guillot and Alex Voetsch, will join MAD Global as managing directors to lead the New York operation.

New York is the third state in which MAD Global has opened full-time operations, joining New Jersey and Ohio as bases of operations. The firm, which was founded in 2022, also has a presence in both Pennsylvania and Washington state.

DuHaime was thrilled to make the announcement.

“MAD Global continues to grow by adding top-tier talent in key markets,” he said. “Jeff and Alex are well-respected players in New York and join our team of first-rate professionals at MAD Global.

“This is a significant milestone for the firm, as we continue to grow our influence since launching just two years ago.”

MAD Global Partner Laura Matos agreed.

Alex Voetsch.

“Our acquisition of Millennial Strategies not only expands our East Coast footprint, but also boosts our reach and expertise in the New York metropolitan market,” she said. “Jeff and Alex’s Democratic networks and experience amplifies our firm’s capabilities to provide valuable counsel to clients on both sides of the aisle.”

Guillot oversaw Millennial’s governmental and public affairs division. He brings extensive expertise in the fields of infrastructure, technology, environmental issues, local land use, cannabis and overall governmental operations at the federal, state and local levels.  His prior public sector experience includes working for U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-N.Y.) and the late Richard Brodsky, who served in the New York Assembly.

Voetsch oversaw Millennial’s campaign division, which included electoral campaigns, independent expenditure organizations and issue advocacy campaigns. He has worked in labor and politics for nearly two decades and has particular expertise in implementing full spectrum television buys, digital ad campaigns, direct mail and field programs. As executive director of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council, he led the New York state voter protection and lawyer recruitment campaign for President Barack Obama in 2012.

Longtime Millennial Strategies staffers Jenny Kate Schlagel and Tiffany Bryant will be joining Guillot and Voestch on the MAD Global team.

Guillot said he and the team are eager to get started.

“I am excited to join MAD Global and grow the New York operation,” he said. “The acquisition from MAD Global will allow our team to continue to do what we do best — issue advocacy campaigns and government relations in the Empire State and beyond.”
