Newly remodeled Kearny Walmart Supercenter celebrates completion

Walmart customers in Kearny will be welcomed inside a newly transformed and expanded Supercenter, as the highly anticipated remodeling project has now been completed. The project featured expansion of the grocery section — including dairy and frozen foods — as well as online grocery pickup and delivery.

Walmart associates, including 16 who have been employed at the Kearny store since it opened in 2006, along with local community leaders, celebrated the remodeled store with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and related events on Nov. 15.

Vendors and suppliers will be on hand to celebrate with fun, games, and samples.

“At Walmart, enhancing our customers’ shopping experience is always a priority,” Ashley Lee, Walmart store lead, said. “We’re thrilled to unveil a variety of new features at our Kearny location. A big thank you to our dedicated associates and store leadership teams for their exceptional efforts throughout the renovations. This investment in New Jersey demonstrates our continued commitment to the communities we proudly serve.”

During the grand opening celebration, Lee will highlight the transformations at the store, including new, interactive features now available to customers.

These include:

  • New products and categories: Expanded departments, new apparel brands, and more.
  • Significant updates: Transformation of several departments, including electronics, pet, home, hardware, paint, and seasonal.
  • Vision and Pharmacy updates
  • Reconfigured store layout: Providing more convenient access to well-shopped areas.
  • Improvements at checkout: Transformed front ends to better serve customers with additional staffed registers for customer convenience.
  • Refreshed interior and exterior: Includes new paint and signage for easier navigation through the stores and exterior updates to the parking lot, landscaping.
  • Lighting enhancements: New fixtures and LED lighting for better line-of-sight and easier navigation.

Walmart customers may also save time and money by shopping when, where, and how they want. The Kearny store will continue to offer the following innovations:

  • Pickup – Walmart’s Pickup option has become a favorite among busy shoppers. It provides the convenience of online shopping and allows them to quickly collect groceries without stepping from their vehicles. The best part is that Walmart Grocery Pickup is completely free of charge. In addition, customers using SNAP have, in most states, the option to avail themselves of the pickup service.
  • Delivery – Walmart’s convenient delivery service is also a hit with customers. Further, Walmart has now made both pickup and delivery contact-free. And with express delivery, customers may have their deliveries arrive in less than two hours.
  • Walmart Pay – A touch-free way to pay.
