Citizens accepting applications for Champions in Action grant focused on building employment pathways for diverse abilities

Citizens is now accepting applications for its 2025 Champions in Action grant program, which will provide $50,000 in unrestricted funding, media and promotional support, and volunteer assistance to a nonprofit dedicated to building employment pathways for individuals with diverse abilities.

Nonprofits that create inclusive and supportive career opportunities by leveraging the strengths of individuals with diverse abilities are encouraged to apply.

“At Citizens, we are committed to building the workforce of the future,” said Rebecca O’Connell, Citizens Tri State Metro president. “We believe that fostering an inclusive environment strengthens our communities and addresses critical economic needs. This round of Champions in Action is particularly meaningful, as it highlights and supports nonprofits dedicated to empowering individuals with diverse abilities. By offering career training, job placement, mentorship, and workplace accommodations, these organizations play a vital role in helping individuals reach their full potential. We are proud to support them in developing inclusive hiring practices and creating meaningful impact.”
