The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) will begin accepting applications next week for a new grant program aimed at supporting small businesses in Morris County impacted by ongoing Route 80 sinkhole repairs.
The Route 80 Business Assistance Grant Program will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22. Grants will range from $1,000 to $15,000 and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
Eligible applicants include small businesses and nonprofits with up to 50 full-time employees located within a five-mile radius of Exit 34 on Route 80, the area most affected by lane closures tied to sinkhole repairs. Businesses must demonstrate at least a $1,000 revenue loss during the first quarter of 2025 to qualify.
A webinar for business owners will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. Details and the application portal are available on the NJEDA’s website.
