The FIFA World Cup 26 New York New Jersey Host Committee Wednesday announced Onyx Equities as its first official New York New Jersey World Cup 2026 host city supporter at Gateway Center’s retail hub, The Junction.

With a multimillion-dollar commitment from Newark-based real estate firm Onyx, this partnership reflects a shared vision of delivering a world-class event, as well as fostering meaningful community legacies that will inspire and benefit generations after the FIFA World Cup 2026.

As part of this commitment, Onyx will support the legacy partnership between the NYNJ Host Committee and the U.S. Soccer Foundation to develop equitable and inclusive access to soccer in New York New Jersey. Onyx announced that it will donate a mini-pitch in the New York New Jersey region by 2026.

“The announcement of Onyx Equities’ support today embodies the spirit of collaboration and community partnership that is essential for the success of the FIFA World Cup 2026,” said Alex Lasry, CEO of the NYNJ Host Committee. “The Host Committee is excited that our first supporter is a homegrown firm that understands the importance of championing our region as we prepare to welcome the world. Together, we are not only bringing a world-class event to the region but also creating a lasting legacy.”

Onyx will also be integrated into the FIFA Fan Festival NYNJ, set to take place at Liberty State Park in Jersey City. The festival will welcome tens of thousands of fans per day over 39 days from June 11 to July 19, 2026, featuring real-time match broadcasts, live entertainment, interactive fan experiences, and extensive sponsorship activations.

“Our support is not just about visibility; it’s about creating opportunities for community engagement and driving economic growth that will benefit our region long after the final whistle,” said John Saraceno, co-founder of Onyx Equities.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 NYNJ Host Committee is the local organizing body responsible for delivering eight matches, including the championship match. This is the first time New Jersey has ever hosted the final of the World Cup. The NYNJ Committee coordinates between city and state stakeholders and FIFA to ensure delivery of infrastructure, services, and fan experiences.

Onyx Equities is a real estate firm specializing in investment, asset repositioning and ground-up development. Since its founding in 2004, Onyx has acquired more than $4.5 billion worth of diverse real estate assets throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, and has executed over $1.1 billion in capital improvement projects.
