Schick, long-time insurance executive, named as new chief revenue officer at Zelis

Zelis on Monday announced that Sue Schick joined the company as president and chief revenue officer, said.

Schick is a health care executive with more than 30 years of experience in the health plan industry across sales, employee benefits, regional management, strategy and growth.

With extensive executive leadership experience at leading health plans, Schick has been in a combination of sales leadership and P&L ownership roles including commercial and government business lines. Most recently, Schick was president, Group & Military at Humana, where she was responsible for driving the growth and profitability of Humana’s Employer Group products including medical and specialty offerings. In addition, she led Humana’s Military Business, which is the nation’s largest Medical Services contractor, providing service to active duty and retired military and their eligible family members through TRICARE, the Defense Health Agency. Prior to Humana, Schick spent 16 years in a range of senior leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group in its Medicaid and Commercial businesses, and she held executive sales leadership roles at CIGNA and Marsh.

“We’re thrilled that Sue is bringing her client-centric leadership and proven record of delivering innovative products and strategies to market to Zelis. Her success in scaling teams and processes to achieve multi-billion-dollar revenue targets will help drive us into the next chapter of growth,” Amanda Eisel, Zelis CEO said. “We deeply thank Patrick O’Keefe, who has been a critical part of our leadership team and an exemplary partner to our clients for the past six years.”

“I’ve spent most of my career in health care and have been an advocate of affordability and helping people achieve their optimum health,” Schick shared. I’m excited to join Zelis in its mission to modernize the healthcare financial experience for all. There’s no better time than now to work across the interest of payers, providers, and consumers to transform the business of healthcare into a simpler and more transparent experience.”

Schick will succeed Patrick O’Keefe, who joined Zelis as CRO in 2017 after holding executive roles at Anthem, United Healthcare and Oxford Health Plans, and has chosen to now serve as senior advisor to the CEO after successfully leading our exceptional growth for the past six years.
