Integrity House Chief Clinical Officer Eman Gibson has been appointed board treasurer of the New Jersey branch of the American Society of Addiction Medicine, according to a recent announcement from one of the largest nonprofit providers of substance use disorder and mental health treatment in the state of New Jersey.
Integrity House has programs in Kearny, Newark, Secaucus, Toms River, Morris Plains and Paramus.
ASAM advances the treatment of addiction through education of physicians, physicians-in-training and other health professionals. The society promotes research, prevention and implementation of evidence-based treatment to improve the outcomes of patients with substance use disorders.
Gibson is a leader in addiction treatment and holds numerous positions of influence throughout the industry.
In addition to her role as chief clinical officer at Integrity House, Gibson serves on the Professional Advisory Committee for the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and is a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
She was selected to co-author the fourth edition of the American Society of Addiction Medicine criteria, specifically the residential standards, and has been appointed to the ASAM Continuing Education Committee.
Gibson is a member of the Addiction Practice Group within the New Jersey Association of Mental Health & Addiction Agencies.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Gibson earned her MBA from Fitchburg State University.
