Todd Brower, former SVP and general counsel at St. Joseph’s Health, joins Frier Levitt as partner

Todd Brower, former senior vice president and general counsel of St. Joseph’s Healthcare System, has joined Pine Brook-based national boutique law firm Frier Levitt as a partner on the health care team. With his extensive experience and unique insights, Brower is set to bolster the firm’s Health Care Practice, representing hospitals and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to his tenure at St. Joseph’s, Brower spent over 31 years as a health care attorney with McCarter & English and Brach Eichler, amassing a wealth of experience in the field.

He has worked with hospitals and health systems with general corporate and regulatory matters, mergers & acquisitions, compliance and other regulatory matters. He has also worked extensively with trustees of hospitals and nonprofit organizations to enhance board performance and education.

Furthermore, Brower has served as a prominent figure in various health care and community organizations. He served for a number of years as a member of the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Council on Hospital Governance and served as board chairman and trustee of Essex Valley Healthcare, East Orange General Hospital and the Foundation for East Orange General Hospital. Additionally, he has been an adjunct professor at Seton Hall Law School and served on the board of trustees of Essex Valley Visiting Nurse Association and as a member of the board and president of the Glen Ridge Community Fund.

“We are excited to have Todd on board to assist our health care clients. As an in-house counsel and practicing attorney, Todd brings an understanding that very few attorneys have. Firm clients will benefit from his extensive healthcare knowledge and background,” Daniel Frier, co-managing partner at Frier Levitt, said.

Brower holds a Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he was health law editor of the School’s Law Journal. Brower earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Emory University.
