Federal Reserve board member, O’Toole highlight keynote speakers at NJ Bankers’ annual Economic Leadership Forum

Michelle Bowman, a member of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve system, and Kevin O’Toole, the chair of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, will be two of the featured speakers at the New Jersey Bankers Association’s annual Economic Leadership Forum on March 7.

The event, which annually draws top speakers, also will include a keynote address from Lindsey Piegza, the chief economist at Stifel Financial.

With new challenges facing the banking industry this year, the forum this year aims to feature industry experts who will share their insights into timely issues, including a 2024 economic outlook, an exploration of the economic engines of New Jersey, balance sheet management, fintech and more.

Bowman will bring an interesting perspective. She not only serves on the board of the Federal Reserve, she is the first person to fill the community bank seat on the board, a seat created by a 2015 law.

She has a law degree — and a journalism degree.

O’Toole, a name partner at O’Toole Scrivo, has tremendous impact at the port, which is modernizing Newark Liberty International Airport as well as being a key player in the Gateway Tunnel project.

Earlier this week, he was No. 11 on the ROI Influencers: Power List.

NJ Bankers CEO Michael Affuso was thrilled to announce the lineup.

“We are excited to have a great lineup of speakers this year who will address both the changes and challenges facing the financial services industry in 2024 and beyond,” he said. “The annual Economic Leadership Forum is a venue for us to come together, learn, share ideas and discuss the future of the banking industry in the Garden State.”

The event is open to both NJ Bankers members and the public. To learn more or to register, click here.
