Buteas appointed board chair for Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey

Chrissy Buteas, who currently serves as the vice president of Optimum, has been named chair of the board of directors of the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey. Buteas’ career has been marked by leadership positions across the broadband communications and video service provider industry, as well as significant roles in business advocacy and community service organizations.

As chair, Buteas is committed to leveraging her experience, expertise and passion to inspire a new generation of leaders and to ensure the Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey remains a beacon of empowerment, leadership and community service.

Prior to her role with Optimum, Buteas served as the chief government affairs officer of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association. Her extensive experience also includes her impactful tenure as CEO and president of the Home Care & Hospice Association of New Jersey, emphasizing her dedication to health care and community well-being.

Buteas’ board memberships include her role on the board of trustees of Middlesex College and her involvement with the Northern Board of Junior Achievement, and both reflect her commitment to education and empowering young people. Her service on various other boards, such as Focus NJ and the South Jersey Technology Park @ Rowan University, further underscores her leadership in fostering innovation and economic growth.

Her numerous accolades, including the President’s Award from the Women’s Political Caucus of NJ and recognition as a Woman of Distinction by the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, highlight her influence and achievements in her field. Buteas’ vision for social equity, combined with her strategic acumen, positions her as an ideal leader to guide GSHNJ in its mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character. She is a past honoree on several ROI Influencers lists.
