Dunn-Kane is 1 of 3 attorneys to join Riker Danzig

Jeanmarie Dunn-Kane has joined Riker Danzig, serving as counsel in the Corporate and Tax groups, the Morristown-based firm announced Monday.

Dunn-Kane, who previously served as an associate at McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, was one of the three hires announced. Matthew Florez (commercial litigation) and Amelia Whiting (environmental) are joining the firm as associates.

Dunn-Kane has experience representing business entities in contractual and transactional matters across both existing and emerging industries. She has helped with mergers & acquisitions and advised on commercial contracts and agreements. She also has experience with federal and state securities law compliance with private offerings, and, additionally, assists business entities from across the business life cycle, from formation to dissolution.

Dunn-Kane received her J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2009, and earned her LL.M. in Taxation, also from Temple, in 2012.

Florez has experience drafting pleadings and briefs in commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York. He received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2019 and served as a law clerk for Joseph Yannotti of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, following law school.

Whiting provides legal counsel on regulatory and transactional matters, with a focus on renewable energy. She has experience in energy conservation standards rulemaking, as well as energy efficiency, sustainable transportation and renewable energy policies. Whiting received her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2019.

Prior to her hiring, Whiting served as an attorney-adviser for the U.S. Department of Energy. She advised the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and the Federal Energy Management Program and supported the DOE and DOJ attorneys in defending challenges to DOE rulemakings.
