Borgata appoints Mario Maesano as vice president of marketing

Mario Maesano has been named vice president of marketing for the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. Maesano, a South Jersey native, is a marketing professional with nearly three decades of dedicated experience and expertise as an executive in the gaming industry.

“Mario’s extensive knowledge of the industry and South Jersey area, coupled with his leadership and expertise across high-level casino properties, will add tremendous value to Borgata, further boosting our organization’s continued growth and success,” Niklas Rytterstrom, president and chief operating officer of Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, said. “We are delighted to welcome Mario as the latest addition to our team and know his marketing expertise will improve our brand visibility and continue to position the property as a leader in Atlantic City.”

Maesano joins Borgata from his previous role as chief marketing officer at Graton Resort & Casino in Sonoma County, California, where he oversaw all marketing and sales operations for one of California’s largest casinos.

In his new role, Maesano will drive the overall development and implementation of tactical marketing initiatives across the property, inclusive of continuing brand development, entertainment, special events and promotions, guest services, charter programming, media strategy and community and public relations for the MGM Resorts property.

“Having grown up in southern New Jersey, I’m thrilled to be back as I take this next step in my career with the esteemed Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa,” Maesano said. “I am looking forward to continuing Borgata’s reputation and legacy of excellence, while also fostering meaningful community-focused initiatives among our fellow neighbors.”

Maesano holds a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Saint Joseph’s University and an MBA from the Williams College of Business at Xavier University.
