Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City resorts donate $140K to support local community

Leadership from Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City resorts, including Caesars Atlantic City, Tropicana Atlantic City and Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City, recently donated $140,000 to local organizations, including the 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, Avanzar, Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and Community FoodBank of New Jersey – Southern Branch, on behalf of the Caesars Foundation.

“For 45 years, Caesars Entertainment has remained committed to investing in our product, our workforce and giving back to the communities we serve. As the largest employer in the area, we remain dedicated to being strong partners to those making a difference in our region, where our guests and team members work, live and play. We are proud to present these incredible local organizations with grants from the Caesars Foundation this year, which will provide critical support for residents of Atlantic County,” John Koster, Eastern regional president, Caesars Entertainment, said.

On April 7, Tropicana Atlantic City hosted the 38th Annual Atlantic/Cape Memorial Brunch, honoring police and fire rescue personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice for the community. There, leadership presented the 200 Club with a $10,000 donation to help provide financial support to families of fallen first responders.

“We are honored to support the 200 Club in providing financial assistance for families who experience unspeakable loss. This donation will help support the organization’s goal of providing funding within 24 hours of a tragedy. We are humbled to assist the families of those who sacrificed their lives for our community,” Gregg Klein, senior vice president and general manager at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City and president of 200 Club of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, said.

Additionally, on May 1, leadership presented Avanzar and the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City with donations at Caesars Atlantic City.

Avanzar, formerly the Atlantic County Women’s Center, has provided shelter and services to women experiencing abuse for nearly four decades. The donation of $40,000 will support the organization’s human trafficking program, which aims to prevent trafficking, as well as protect victims through crisis and trauma response services.

In continued support of the Boys and Girls Club, the Caesars Foundation donated $25,000, which will assist the organization in enhancing the lives of children and teens through educational programs and character development opportunities.

Then, on May 2, at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s Night of 300,000 Meals, Joseph Giunta, senior vice president and general manager, Tropicana Atlantic City, presented the food bank with a donation of $50,000 in support of providing 300,000 meals to more than 55,000 South Jersey residents experiencing food insecurity.

Lastly, in ongoing efforts to protect the youth population of New Jersey, a $15,000 donation was given to CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, in support of its commitment to advocating for abused and neglected children in search of a permanent home.
