Recent alum, CFO of South Jersey Industries named to Stockton University Foundation board

The Stockton University Foundation recently welcomed two new members to its board of directors. Steven Cocchi, of Linwood, and Sage Del Valle, Class of 2020/MBA Class of 2021, of Mays Landing, begin their terms immediately.

Cocchi serves as senior vice president and chief financial officer of South Jersey Industries. He is a member of the Public Utility Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the State Affairs Committee of the American Gas Association and the board of trustees at the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City.

Del Valle is co-founder and CEO of Differnt Systems, a technology consulting, development and implementation firm. Del Valle leads an award-winning team of installers, engineers and designers to deliver efficiency, innovation and insights to a diverse portfolio of clients. He is a two-time graduate of Stockton and serves as a member of the Stockton University Business Advisory Board. He also is a board member for the Cape May Chamber of Commerce and other educational institutions.

“We are excited to welcome Sage and Steven to the foundation board,” Brigid Callahan Harrison, Class of 1988, chair of the Stockton University Foundation board, said. “Their expertise, strong community connections and commitment to making education accessible will undoubtedly benefit Stockton and the foundation.”

The Stockton University Foundation board is comprised of community leaders, Stockton graduates and other friends and supporters who are responsible for overseeing the foundation’s more than $55 million in assets. The foundation’s mission is to remove barriers to student success at Stockton, providing resources to make higher education more attainable. The foundation awards more than $1 million annually in scholarships directly to Stockton students and supports faculty research and other programs at the university with equipment and other support.

“As evident by our Atlantic City campus, South Jersey Industries has been a longtime and welcome supporter of Stockton’s educational mission, so I’m glad that we can bring another community partner on board,” Dan Nugent, vice president of university advancement and executive director of the foundation, said.
