Raritan Township has been awarded a $10,000 Community Energy Plan grant from the N.J. Board of Public Utilities.
The CEPG program, established in 2019, aims to enhance and increase energy efficiency and sustainability across the state by funding projects that help municipalities create and implement energy strategies in alignment with the state’s energy master plan.
Committeeman Bradford Perry told TAP Into Flemington/Raritan that the grant will primarily be used for advisory services to shape a comprehensive energy plan for the Township.
“The purpose of the grant is to cover the costs associated with planning and advising,” he said. “We anticipate the project will span approximately a year.”
