Phil Murphy’s slate of events leading up to inauguration

Gov.-elect Phil Murphy’s transition team announced its schedule of events leading up to the inauguration on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Murphy and Lt. Gov.-elect Sheila Oliver got the ball rolling with a kickoff event Friday afternoon at the Newark Museum.

Here’s a look at what is taking place between and Tuesday night’s Inaugural Ball.

Saturday

  • State tour: Murphy and Oliver will visit various communities across the state to discuss their vision for the next four years. Click here to learn more details.

Sunday

  • Wreath-laying ceremony: At the Wildwoods Veterans Memorial, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Kids interactive inaugural: At the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, click here.
  • Inaugural concert: Featuring PnB Rock and Busta Rhymes. At Middlesex County College, from 5-7 p.m. For more information, click here.

Monday

  • Day of Service: Murphy and Oliver will participate in designated service activities throughout all 21 counties to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. For more information, click here.

Tuesday

  • Inaugural prayer service:  The official inaugural prayer service will take place at Shiloh Baptist Church in Trenton, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
  • Swearing-in ceremony: The swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Inaugural Ball: At MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, from 7-11 p.m. For more information, click here.
