Montclair State University & Nexus Licensing Group join for strategic partnership

Nexus Licensing Group and Montclair State University announced an exclusive partnership agreement that names Nexus as the University’s licensing agency of record.

Under the agreement, Nexus will help Montclair expand its brand reach and revenue potential through traditional retail and e-commerce channels. The firm will also develop and execute a strategic, integrated plan to protect and manage the University’s name and marks, as well as enhance its retail strategy through customized promotions on campus and beyond.

Nexus provides full-service trademark licensing management and advisory services for colleges, universities and athletic conferences.

“Montclair’s brand and reputation are very valuable assets. To help us expand its reach — and protect against unauthorized uses — we have established a formal trademarks licensing program,” said Joseph Brennan, Montclair State’s vice president for communications and marketing. “We look forward to working with Nexus to build a program that will be a win-win for the University and our partners.”

“We are thrilled to begin our work with Montclair State University,” said Brian Young, founder and CEO, Nexus Licensing Group. “As the second-largest university in New Jersey, and with strong brand recognition across the region and beyond, we believe there is great potential for a comprehensive consumer products program that engages Montclair’s constituents both near and far.”
