2 NJ women nationally recognized as ‘young guns’ in roofing industry

A Flanders entrepreneur and an Elmwood Park-based commercial roofing leader have been recognized by a national magazine as “standout roofing contractors under the age of 40.”

Dubbed the “Young Guns” of 2025, Amanda Veinott and Wendy Lucas were commended by the editors of “Roofing Contractor Magazine” for their business acumen, underscoring their abilities as self-starters and visionaries.

“It’s no surprise, but this next up-and-coming younger generation of roofing contractors has a fresh take on customer expectations, communication, how to build out processes, and truly leverage technology throughout their business organization,” said Anna Anderson, CEO of Art Unlimited and national facilitator of Roofing Contractor Young Guns. “Today’s emerging roofing contractor is joining the industry at a very exciting time.”

Roofing Contractor’s latest crop of young roofing professionals, which includes six business professionals under age 40 from across the U.S., made major life-changing decisions to explore their entrepreneurial sides in roofing.

Veinott is the owner and founder of Maven Roofing & Exteriors LLC, a residential roofing and exterior remodeling contractor in Flanders. She also is the creator of a 12,000 person-strong social media community primarily based in Morris County.

“Maven’s success can be attributed to my deep involvement in the community and local social media presence,” Veinott told the magazine. “I also credit our success to professionalism, reputation and clear internal and external communication.”

Lucas is a commercial roofing professional and focused on recruiting and advancing women in construction. She is the vice president of client experience at PB Roofing, a commercial roofing company. Lucas has led the development of the organization’s sales, marketing and client experience teams, further diversifying its nationwide commercial real estate client portfolio. As part of her community contributions, she serves on the executive committee of National Women in Roofing, a volunteer-led organization with more than 2,000 members across the U.S.

“Roofing was never really in the plans, but I’d like to believe that roofing found me,” Lucas told the magazine. “I joined the PB Roofing team full time in September 2020 and never looked back!”

Roofing Contractor magazine is one of the country’s leading trade publications in the construction industry, covering all aspects of residential and commercial roofing. As the Official Publication of the International Roofing Expo, it is a source of information for a national audience.
