Chemistry Council names Trenton veteran as policy director

The Chemistry Council of New Jersey, a trade organization for chemistry sector manufacturers and businesses, has named a new director of policy, it announced Monday.

Ben Graziano will join the organization later this month, after 10 years of legislative and policy experience on federal and state levels.

“We are thrilled that Ben will join our team to help direct the council’s policy efforts and assist on managing our growing portfolio of issues that require our industry’s attention and input,” Executive Director Dennis Hart said in a prepared statement.

Graziano most recently was senior policy analyst in the General Assembly Majority Office and has served as a legislative director for the state’s 7th District.

In his new role, he will assist Hart and others in formalizing policy initiatives and coordinating advocacy strategy.

“His work as an aide for the Commerce and Economic Development, Financial Institutions and Insurance, and Telecommunications & Utilities committees will be an asset to our team as we navigate the legislative process on behalf of our member companies,” Hart said.

Graziano will also serve as a member of State Street Associates, a lobbying firm that is a subsidiary of the council.
