Officials and developers cut the ribbon for The Link at Aberdeen Station this week, celebrating the completion of the fifth and final building at the luxury rental community in Aberdeen Township.
The 227-unit project already has approximately 200 residents after launching leasing earlier this year, according to a news release on the ribbon-cutting. The property is part of the township’s longstanding plan to redevelop a 20-acre site beside the Aberdeen-Matawan rail station into a transit village.
Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarini, as well as members of the township council and Economic Business Council, joined developers from Livingston-based BNE Real Estate Group and Red Bank-based Highview Homes for the ceremony.
“This beautiful and successful rental community radically transformed a prime, but underutilized site marred by vacant industrial and warehouse buildings,” Tagliarini said in a prepared statement. “As we cut the ceremonial ribbon on the launch of the final building, I’d like to thank BNE, Highview Homes, NJ Transit, my current and former colleagues on the Aberdeen council, as well as our professionals and state representatives for making this long-coming project a reality.
“The Link instills great pride for all who’ve been involved in this process.”
The property, officially located at 1101 Schindler Drive, was designed by Thomas Brennan Architects, with interiors by Minno and Wasko Architects and Planners. Monthly prices start at $1,840.
It also includes street-level retail, with both Brooklyn Bagelry and Frutta Bowls in the works.
