Morris County chamber names new president

The Morris County Chamber of Commerce has named a new president, replacing the retiring Paul Boudreau, it announced Monday.

Meghan Hunscher, executive director of the Morris County Economic Development Corp., a division of the chamber, will take over Jan. 1. Boudreau has served in the post for 10 years, with his last day coming Dec. 31.

“I am thrilled that Meghan has accepted our offer to become the next president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce,” Jack Miller, CEO of Solix Inc. and chairman of the chamber board, said in a prepared statement. “She is clearly the right person to lead the chamber through its next chapter of evolution and growth. On behalf of the board, I would like to recognize and thank Paul for his tremendous leadership over the past 10 years and pledge our support for and confidence in Meghan as she assumes her new position.”

Hunscher was chosen after a six-month search that evaluated nearly 40 candidates. The search committee, which was led by Ed Ahart of Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP, unanimously recommended Hunscher for the post.

“Meghan has the right vision and skill set to help our economy grow and prosper in the years ahead,” Trish O’Keefe, president of Morristown Medical Center and board vice chair, said in a statement.

Hunscher had been executive director of the MCEDC since 2016.

“I am honored to be selected as the president of one of the premier chambers in the state of New Jersey, and I am very excited about this new role leading the Morris County Chamber of Commerce along with an accomplished and dedicated board,” she said in a statement. “I look forward to meeting with current and prospective members and developing programs and initiatives consistent with the chamber’s mission to help businesses grow.”

The Morris chamber has nearly 900 members that employ 74,000 people in Morris County and the region.
