Provident Bank Foundation awards major grants

The Provident Bank Foundation has awarded more than $266,000 during its third Major Grant cycle of the year, it announced, with 16 New Jersey organizations among those benefiting.

The Morristown-based foundation said in a news release that it has surpassed the $25 million grant award milestone in its 16th year in existence. Grants benefit not-for-profit institutions and organizations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in three funding priority areas: community enrichment, education, and health, youth & families.

“In reviewing grant applications, we were very impressed by the impact being made by these organizations in our communities every day,” Jane Kurek, the foundation’s executive director, said in a prepared statement. “The Provident Bank Foundation is honored to support their efforts through important initiatives such as violence prevention, mental health services, arts enrichment and many more.”

A total of $266,630 was awarded during the cycle to 19 organizations. The New Jersey recipients, by county, are:

  • Bergen County: Englewood Health Foundation;
  • Essex County: GlassRoots; and Youth Consultation Service Inc.;
  • Middlesex County: Puerto Rican Association for Human Development Inc.;
  • Monmouth County: CPC Behavioral Healthcare Inc.; and LADACIN Network;
  • Morris County: CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties; Family Promise of Morris County; Vision Loss Alliance of New Jersey Inc.; Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey; and NewBridge Services Inc.;
  • Ocean County: Adler Aphasia Center;
  • Passaic County: Passaic County Community College Foundation;
  • Somerset County: Middle Earth;
  • Union County: Community Access Unlimited;
  • Warren County: Abilities of Northwest Jersey Inc.
