Campbell Soup hires chief culture officer, tasked with implementing I&D strategy

Campbell Soup Co. has named a new chief culture officer, the Camden-based food products company said this week.

Camille Pierce, who will also serve as a vice president, comes from Whirlpool Corp., where she was senior director of global inclusion & diversity. In her new role, Pierce will lead Campbell’s inclusion and diversity strategy, including team- and culture-building, as well aligning I&D goals with business outcomes.

ā€œWe’re approaching inclusion and diversity and culture change in a comprehensive and systemic way, by making it a companywide priority supported by an integrated plan with measurable goals and a multiyear approach,ā€ CEO and President Mark Clouse said in a prepared statement. ā€œCamille’s leadership and expertise will add tremendous value to our team, and she will be critical in our ongoing progress to build an inclusive and winning culture.ā€

As a member of the company leadership team, she will report to Xavier Boza, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, and to Clouse.

In her career, Pierce also spent 20 years with Procter & Gamble, serving in a variety of marketing and human resources roles. In 2019, she was recognized as a Top Executive in Diversity & Inclusion by Black Enterprise magazine.
