KPMG’s Serluco named new chair of Morris County chamber

Tom Serluco, a partner at audit, tax and advisory firm KPMG, has been named the 2021 chair by the Morris County Chamber of Commerce board of directors.

The chamber also announced the new slate of officers:

  • Immediate past chair: Trish O’Keefe, president of Morristown Medical Center and vice president of Atlantic Health System. She served as board chair for 2019-2020.
  • Vice chair: Deidre Wheately-Liss, a principal at the law firm Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C. She previously served as secretary.
  • Treasurer: Tom Lyons, senior vice president, chief financial officer of Provident Bank and Provident Financial Services Inc. He remains in the role.
  • Secretary: Tony Iacono, president of County College of Morris. He is a new officer.
  • Board attorney: Jason Waldstein, a partner at legal services firm Schenck, Price, Smith & King LLP. He also is new to the officers.

The board also welcomed three new members: Casey Gocel, a partner at the law firm Mandelbaum Salsburg; Barbra Katz, chief human resources officer and senior vice president at Crum & Forster; and Jawad Chaudhry, executive vice president and head of corporate finance & strategy at Investors Bank.

Serluco is an audit partner in KPMG’s Short Hills office and serves as the leader of the New Jersey Audit Practice. He has more than 28 years of experience serving national and global organizations, and provides accounting and auditing services to public and private companies in a variety of industries, including the retail, consumer product, chemical and life science industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Northeastern University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New Jersey and New York.

“I am honored to serve as the board chair for the Morris County Chamber of Commerce,” he said. “The chamber is a vital economic engine for the county and surrounding region, and plays a vital role in empowering the business community to grow, employ tens of thousands of people and contribute to the greater common good.

“I am humbled to follow Trish O’Keefe, whose stewardship of the board during the onset and continuation of COVID-19 was remarkable, and I hope to be able to provide similar leadership as we make our way out of these challenging times and weather the new conditions to which all business must now adapt.”

Meghan Hunscher, president of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, said she was thrilled to announce the leadership positions.

“The Morris County Chamber of Commerce could not be as successful as we have been over the years without the insightful guidance of our board, its officers and chair,” she said. “We are thankful to Trish O’Keefe for her guidance during her tenure — we attracted new members despite COVID — and I look forward to working closely with Tom, the 2021 officer group and our entire board to ensure our continued progress and the best interests of our members.”
