HUB International Vice President Carolyn Andress was recently honored with the 2021 Louis G. Mattei Achievement Award, the most prestigious award handed out by the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters.
The NJAHU recognized Andress’ achievements and ongoing commitment to the profession.
An active member of NJAHU for more than 20 years, Andress served as state secretary, conference chair, as well as president and education chair of the Monmouth-Ocean Chapter of NJAHU. She was a recipient of the 2014 Shooting Star Award and 2015 Presidents Award. She is currently the chair of the NJAHU Health Insurance Association Political Action Committee and represents NJAHU at the Health Care Quality Institute.
In accepting the award, Andress said she was honored to be part of such a prestigious group of professionals that has helped mold the NJAHU into a well-known voice of the health insurance industry.
“I look forward to continuing to help provide answers as we move into the uncertain and ever-changing future of health care reform,” she said.
Over her years of involvement, Andress has been one of the most active members of the NJAHU. She currently serves as the regional professional development council chair as well as chair of the association’s PAC. In July, she will assume her new role as national vice chair of the Professional Development Council.
NJAHU President Rob Saphow said Andress was a worthy honoree.
“Carolyn is one of those dedicated people who has been a consistent resource for the NJAHU,” he said. “She is smart, hard-working and has such an incredible knowledge of the intricacies of health insurance. In this era of constant change in the market, Carolyn is a very special resource for NJAHU members.”
