A trio of familiar faces have made a global list of the World’s Best Workplaces, according to Great Place to Work and Fortune.
Stryker, the Mahwah-based joint replacement company, ranked No. 15 on the Top 25 list. Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceutical company with its U.S. headquarters in East Hanover, came in at No. 16. And Novo Nordisk, the Danish pharmaceutical company that has its U.S. headquarters in Plainsboro, was ranked No. 18.
Novo Nordisk returned to the list after most recently qualifying in 2015.
The list was created by Great Place to Work and Fortune from 10,000 companies in 106 countries. To qualify, companies had to appear on at least five Best Workplaces lists in their respective region. Companies were assessed based on employee opinion surveys, as well as the impact of company workplace programs and other factors.
“The World’s Best Workplaces are the most sweeping and consistent examples of inclusive company cultures we’ve ever known,” Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work, said in a prepared statement. “In a global workforce, alignment is everything, and these companies are fortifying their culture around the world — a nearly impossible feat. Even when tested by the pandemic, these companies recognize subcommunities in each region, and their leaders carry an equitable employee experience across cultures.”
DHL Worldwide, the transportation and logistics firm, ranked No. 1 on the list.
Other names on the list with a strong New Jersey presence include Roche, EY and Santander, among others.
