Community Foundation of South Jersey receives nearly $100K from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation

The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation announced 2021 grants to the Community Foundation of South Jersey as a result of its December board meeting. The Community Foundation received $71,500 for its strategic plan work and $25,000 for its Atlantic City Community Fund.

This grant funding will go a long way toward creating a better South Jersey for all its communities and residents, according to the Community Foundation of South Jersey.

“We are delighted to continue our support and partnership with CFSJ, particularly because their work in the region aligns with our sharpened focus on root cause and repair of structural racism and inequity in New Jersey,” said Marianna Schafer, vice president, programs, Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.

The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation grant invests in CFSJ’s capacity as an impactful grantmaker, regional asset developer and community leader. It envisions a just and equitable New Jersey where people of all races and communities have equal access to opportunities and are able to thrive and achieve their full potential.

“Our board and staff are grateful for the support and partnership with the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation,” Andy Fraizer, CFSJ executive director, said. “The Dodge team has connected deeply with CFSJ’s community leadership work, provided expertise and knowledge beyond the grant funding, and engaged in learning alongside CFSJ. The Dodge Foundation team sees the same potential in South Jersey, as CFSJ fundholders, staff, and board of directors.”

Ben Zeltner, president of the Atlantic City Community Fund board of advisers, added: “Our mission at the Atlantic City Community Fund is to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the conditions of the city of Atlantic City. We are grateful for the Dodge Foundation’s investment and philanthropic services from the Community Foundation of South Jersey.”
