Checks are nice — services and access are better. That’s been a longstanding philosophy of John Harmon, the founder and CEO of the African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey.
That’s why Harmon was so excited to announce the latest joint effort between the chamber and Gibbons P.C. — a partnership in which Gibbons will provide certain pro bono legal services to members of the chamber with annual revenues of $500,000 or less.
“Having professional legal services to assist small businesses with potential growth opportunities and to mitigate potential risk could substantially contribute to their growth and sustainability,” Harmon said.
Through the alliance, Gibbons attorneys across various practice areas will be able to volunteer their time and talent to provide necessary legal counsel and advice for these small businesses to launch, sustain, calibrate or advance their operations.
Whether a company requires legal assistance with everyday tasks or with long-term strategies, Gibbons’ attorneys will be on hand, offering services in such areas as employment law, real estate, general corporate advice, intellectual property, cybersecurity and various others.
Harmon said the partnership builds upon recent successful joint efforts between AACCNJ and Gibbons.
Both organizations said they are excited to once again combine forces to provide additional opportunities to assist minority- and women-owned business enterprises and directly support certain AACCNJ member companies.
