Hopeworks announces launch of Latinx Enterprise initiative

Initiative will award one Latinx-owned business in the Northeast Region a new website

Camden-based Hopeworks on Monday announced the launch of the Latinx Enterprise Initiative. As part of the initiative, the nonprofit plans to award a dynamic and engaging website, valued at $20,000, to a Latinx-owned business in the New Jersey, Delaware and Greater Philadelphia area, at no cost to the recipient.

The nonprofit dedicated to providing a positive, healing environment that propels young people to build strong futures said it will provide a professional, responsive and functional website with search engine optimization.

Hopeworks’ web services include WordPress website design and development, website support and maintenance, technical training, UX and accessibility audits, UI kits, business services portals and search engine optimization.

“In the wake of the pandemic, small, minority-owned businesses need our support now more than ever,” said Lindajoy Jackson, director of business at Hopeworks. “After the success of the Black Enterprise Initiative earlier this year, we are excited to be able to offer Latinx entrepreneurs in the community the same chance to grow their businesses.”

By serving these businesses, Hopeworks will also be able to provide valuable opportunities to Camden and Philadelphia residents. The young professionals working on these projects are well trained and use their technical skills to build viable business solutions for the business community. This experience leads to long-term employment, financial stability and professional development for young professionals in Camden and Philadelphia.

Businesses interested in applying must be Latinx-owned and located in the Northeast region. Applications are now being accepted here (or here, for Spanish-language application) and the winner will be announced May 9.
