Former CWA leader Hetty Rosenstein joins Murphy reelection campaign

Longtime labor leader Hetty Rosenstein has joined the Murphy for Governor 2021 team, Gov. Phil Murphy’s reelection campaign announced Wednesday.

Rosenstein, who recently retired as state director for New Jersey for the Communications Workers of America after 14 years in the post and 40 years with the union, will serve the campaign as senior adviser for progressive coalitions and outreach.

“It would be an understatement to say that Hetty Rosenstein is a force of nature for organized labor and progressive causes that matter to New Jersey’s working- and middle-class families,” Murphy said in a prepared statement. “From raising the minimum wage to expanding access to health care, Hetty has been an exceptional partner in our fight to create a stronger and fairer New Jersey. Hetty has a deep understanding of what it takes to build a winning coalition, and I’m thrilled to have her on our team.”
