Valley Health System announced that the Valley Hospital in Paramus will open its doors April 14, 2024.
The new, state-of-the-art, acute-care hospital will feature 370 private patient rooms and will be the centerpiece of a comprehensive 40-acre health care campus that also includes Valley’s medical office building located at 140 E. Ridgewood Ave. and the Robert & Audrey Luckow Pavilion, which houses Valley-Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care, the George R. Jaqua Same Day Services Center, a full-service retail pharmacy and more.
Highlights of the new hospital include:
- Single-patient rooms to enhance privacy, safety, and comfort;
- An expanded Emergency Department that is located next to diagnostic imaging and in proximity to surgical and interventional services to minimize travel for patients in need of emergent care;
- A sustainable design in which more than 30% of the 40-acre campus will feature open green space, such as gardens, lawns and walking paths. Best practices for energy efficiency, space utilization, water consumption and use of natural light have also been incorporated;
- A “smart hospital” design to optimize care delivery using state-of-the-art technologies, such as artificial intelligence, smart beds and Real-Time Location Systems.
