Recovery Centers of America at Lighthouse welcomes 2 addiction recovery professionals to leadership team

Mays Landing-based Recovery Centers of America at Lighthouse on Monday announced the appointments of Kay Springs as director of outpatient services and Ben Goldman as territory manager for South Jersey. Springs will oversee the development and implementation of all aspects of outpatient services at RCA at Lighthouse, while Goldman will lead the South Jersey business development team.

“We are thrilled to welcome both Kay and Ben to their new roles at RCA, supporting our patients’ recovery journeys while further strengthening our leadership team,” interim CEO Bobby Bunyon said. “Each has significant experience in combating the disease of addiction. They will be a great asset to the RCA at Lighthouse community, helping us to fulfill our mission of saving lives.”

A licensed professional counselor in New Jersey and a national certified counselor and certified life coach, Springs joins RCA with more than 20 years of experience in counseling, crisis management, psychiatric intervention services, outpatient services with co-occurring disorders and disordered gambling for the adult population. Springs is also a published author on suicide prevention and intervention. She earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Walden University, a master’s degree in child advocacy from Montclair State University and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Seton Hall University.

“I am honored to join the talented and caring drug and alcohol outpatient treatment team at RCA at Lighthouse, helping those in need achieve and maintain long-term sobriety,” Springs said. “All of my training and experience has led me to Recovery Centers of America, and I am here to support anyone seeking a personal journey to wellness.”

Goldman, a former patient at Lighthouse, rejoins RCA at Lighthouse, where he served as a treatment advocate and business development officer from 2020-21. He comes to his current role from Guardian Recovery Network, where he led the strategic growth and expansion of services in New Jersey. Previously, Goldman served as director of business development at Absolute Awakenings Treatment Center, and held various positions, including community outreach, house manager and recovery support staff at Surfside Structured Sober Living. He earned his MBA, with a focus in marketing, from Lynn University, and his bachelor’s degree in sports marketing and event management from Shepard University.

“I was that person struggling on the other end of the phone,” Goldman said. “This new role with RCA, a leader in addiction counseling, allows me to marry my personal recovery story with my professional focus on helping people overcome their substance use disorders to achieve lasting recovery.”
