New Jersey American Water is joining the nationwide call for driver caution during National Work Zone Awareness Week, which runs today through April 25. This year’s theme, “Respect the zone so we all get home,” underscores the shared responsibility of protecting road crews and motorists.
“Our teams are in the field daily to maintain and upgrade essential water infrastructure,” said Ben Morris, vice president of operations. “Safety is always a top priority, but we need the public’s help to reduce risks in work zones.”
The utility, which has more than 50 crews working across the state on any given day, reminds drivers to stay alert, slow down, and maintain safe following distances when approaching roadside construction.
New Jersey American Water will spotlight safety tips on social media and send work zone awareness messages to customers throughout the week.
