Teaneck company launches next-generation foot-scanning device for retailers

Aetrex Inc., a maker of foot-scanning technology and data-driven orthotics and footwear, this week announced the launch of its Zoe Pro 3D foot scanner, designed to make premium foot scanning affordable and accessible to large and small retailers.

Launching in August, Zoe Pro combines 3D-foot measurements, underfoot pressure analysis, and AI-driven product recommendations in a compact, intuitive system. Built for modern retail, it allows stores to deliver accurate, personalized fit experiences with minimal training or staff involvement.

The technology is aimed at reducing cost through innovative engineering to bring the technology to the mainstream.

“Just as Tesla revolutionized electric vehicles with the Models 3 and Y, our goal was to make cutting-edge foot scanning attainable for the broader market — without compromising performance,” said Larry Schwartz, CEO of Aetrex. “This is the future of fit. And it fits everyone.”

Zoe Pro shares the core properties of Aetrex’s flagship Albert Pro scanner, maintaining standards of accuracy, speed, and shopper engagement while reimagining the system’s architecture.

Over an 18-month development period, Aetrex engineers reduced from three MCU processors in the Albert Pro to one in Zoe Pro, improving speed and reducing complexity without sacrificing scanning precision. The Zoe Pro also features a wider entrance and taller protective base.

A key innovation is Zoe AI, an intelligent 3D-animated assistant named Zoe, that guides users through the scan, explains the results, and recommends products through voice and text prompts.

Zoe Pro captures 16 key foot measurements including length, width, arch height, arch depth, and girth; supports both adult and children’s scans with kids-specific software called Tootsie; and integrates with a retailer’s point of sale system to provide best-fitting product recommendations across any shoe brand in the retailer’s inventory.

The Zoe Pro launch builds on the success of Aetrex’s flagship scanner Albert Pro, which the company says has been employed by footwear retailers Foot Locker, DSW, Asics, and Puma.

Zoe Pro is available to U.S. retail partners for $1,995 (or $55/month).

Aetrex said that since 2002, it has placed more than 12,000 scanners worldwide that have performed more than 50 million unique customer foot scans.
